The 308 Exhibition Street Twin Towers project is a landmark development set to transform Melbourne’s skyline with its dual high-rise structures. Designed as a mixed-use complex, the towers will offer a blend of luxury residential apartments, commercial office spaces, and retail outlets, all in a modern, architecturally stunning form. Rising 61 and 59 stories, the twin towers will feature cutting-edge technology, sustainability-focused designs, and panoramic city views. This development aims to enhance Melbourne’s CBD with a dynamic, vibrant urban space, integrating living, working, and leisure environments.

308 Exhibition key features:

Tower 1 is predominantly residential apartments
Tower 2 is the first Shangri-La hotel in Melbourne
The sky bridge hosts amenities and a Sky Lounge for visitors and residents, and features a transparent “oculus” glass floor with views into the UNESCO world-heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building surrounding the Carlton Gardens and Port Phillip Bay

PSV Consulting Engineers played a crucial role in the construction of the 308 Exhibition Street twin towers, particularly in the review of key structural elements.

A standout feature is the composite skybridge, soaring approximately 170 meters above ground, which required innovative engineering solutions to ensure its stability and safety. We also reviewed a robust three-meter-deep raft foundation, strategically positioned atop an existing railway tunnel, necessitating careful consideration of load distribution and site conditions.

Additionally, the incorporation of transfer walls was essential in redistributing loads effectively throughout the structure, allowing for the seamless integration of both towers. Our expertise ensured the project not only met regulatory standards but also achieved the desired architectural vision.
