Industry Skill Needs Report

On an annual basis Primary Skills Victoria is asked to gather specific advice on current and future industry training and skills needs and provide feedback to Skills Victoria through their appointed consultants at Access Economics.

Advice is sought through PSV's dedicated industry networks and focussed through the presentation of four key questions:

  1. Are there any major developments in key change drivers shaping your industry which have arisen or significantly intensified over the last 12 months?

  2. What are the responses being made by businesses and industry organisations to these developments?

  3. What are the skills implications of these developments and industry responses, including any emerging skill requirements and critical skill shortages and indicating where relevant the geographical area(s) in which shortages exists, ie – metropolitan, regional?

  4. Please identify the training demand and delivery consequences of addressing these skills needs, including where possible any metropolitan and/or regional impacts?

Primary Skills Victoria has compiled and submitted a report detailing the responses made by industry representatives to these questions.
